HyperCard, which ran on Classic Mac OS, was used as a simple development environment to create various teaching materials. Due to the discontinuation of HyperCard, this trend declined; however, a new HyperCard-inspired application, LiveCode, has been developed. LiveCode is a cross-platform development environment that enables the development of diverse and flexible teaching materials. It maintains the strengths of HyperCard as well as being compatible with the latest operating systems.
