広島文化学園大学・短期大学におけるIR （Institutional Research） の展開 Development of Institutional Research （IR） at Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen University and Two-Year College 松元,健治 金澤,寛 IR Institutional Research 教育の質保証 Quality Assurance EBPM Evidence-Based Policy Making BI Business Intelligence The purpose of this paper is to examine the state of Institutional Research（ IR） at Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen University and Two-Year College as a practical example of IR at a small private university in local areas, and also to clarify the future assignments and improvement directions for IR promotion at small private universities. Regarding the current situation of IR at private universities in Japan, various studies on IR have been actively conducted by both faculty researchers in a wide range of specialized fields and IR personnel, and IR has been steadily progressing at many private universities, mainly due to the policy guidance by the national government since the mid-2010s. As for the implementation status of IR at Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen University and Two-Year College, the regulations for IR Promotion Center were established in 2014, and a common IR organization for the university and the junior college was also established. The action policy of IR clarifies two points: 1） to position educational IR as the core of IR, and 2） to clarify that basic purpose of IR is to support policy formation. Then specific measures for IR have been clearly defined and IR activities centered on internal quality assurance have been continuously implemented. In 2023, a data analysis team was established, and an effort was made to improve analytical capabilities for analyzing data visually from multiple perspectives using Tableau.
