In 2022, we contributed to the translation of this book into Japanese as Furuta and Ito the supervisors, and published it. This paper is based on the discussion of the book at the symposium of The Japanese Association of Special Education conference in the summer of 2023.\n The book raises the alarm that a society that prioritizes economic principles has created structures that marginalize specific groups of children to lower social classes.\nIn addressing this issue, we focused primarily on the intricate interplay between race and disability, eugenics, and the authority of experts, which are some of the key themes of the book.
