This study deals with children’s recognition of city landscape. Therefore, a painting competition on the theme ofthe landscape to keep and conserve was held for elementary and junior high school pupils. In the competition, the reason for choosing visual task as subject of painting were written about fifty characters. This description contents were quantitatively analyzed by cluster analysis and text mining approach. The main findings obtained are as follows:（ 1） Children recognize tourist sites and facilities such as parks, museums and so on.
