| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on the use of music therapy approaches for children receiving medical care at home, with their family members. After being discharged from a New-born Intensive Care Unit (NICU), children and their family members often begin extensive medical care at their residence. Families who take responsibility for their child’s medical care, face high levels of stress and frustration due to the constraints of constant caregiving. In order to help support these families with the difficulties that they face at home, a prefectural general hospital started its own group support meetings. A total of five group music therapy sessions were conducted and a survey was taken in order to explore future possibilities of music therapy for this particular population. Music therapy was introduced for the first time to the disabled children and their families. As a result, music therapy activities were highly appreciated and were further requested by many of the parents. |
