内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 Factors that make students enjoy "physical expression" classes, which is one of the course for training nursery teachers, were investigated, and the effects liking physical expression on recognizing the "development of sensitivity and expressive power" were examined.
Participants were second-year students (N=102) in a junior college for nursery teacher training.
The survey was conducted after completing the physical expression course, and inquired if the participants liked physical expression.
Results indicated that the mean score increased significantly compared to before taking the course, which indicated that students came to enjoy physical expression by taking the course. Moreover, the effects of five components of the class: "playing with expressions," "free expression," "creating dance without form," "dance with form," and "music choreography," on liking physical expression were examined. The results indicated "playing with expressions," "free expression," and "dance with form" were significantly liked by students. These contents were regarded as factors that developed a liking for physical expression classes.
Next, the effects of the class on the development of sensitivity and expressive power was examined by classifying the students into two groups; those that liked physical expression before taking the class and those that did not like it before taking the class. The results indicated the former recognized that taking the class affected the development of sensitivity and expressive power, whereas the latter did not recognize this effect.
Furthermore, correlations between confidence in physical expression and utilizing it in childcare settings were examined. The results indicated that those recognizing they became confident about Physical expression planned to utilize it in childcare. In the future, teaching methods that facilitate students' liking and confidence for "creating dance without form," which is considered useful for developing sensitivity and expressive power, should be designed.
