内容記述 Rapid economic growth of our society has given its effect on our family life. As a result, a change has been felt recently in the field of our eating habits. We have examined it with the cooperation of a consumers' cooperative society. The method of the investigation is as follows: trend of consumers is observed by age and occupation; according to catalogs, food items are classified into raw materials, half-cooked food and cooded food, and further half-cooked food with would increase in the future is classfied into baked food, fried food, boiled food and other itesm; and frozen food is also investigated. Results can be summerized as follows: 1. Most of the users of the consumers' cooperative are in their age of 30 and have no outside work than housekeeping. 2. There is observed no conformity between the frequency of catalog displays and that of purchases, and cooked food and frozen food are purchased most frequently. 3. There are found few differences between users classified by age and those classified by occupation in the rate of purchases of raw materials, half-cooked food and cooked food and also in the rate of purchases of individual items of half-cooked food classified as above. 4. In the users classified by age, those who purchase food (including frozen one) most frequently are the age group who has children with a huge appetite. 5. Characteristies of food purchases in vieur of users' age differ at housewivess' age of 40 as a border line: housewives less than 40 years old nery often use cooked food and appreciate readinss of then; while those 40 ? 55 years old use frozen raw materials more frequently and also often use half-cooked items processed with new techniques. 6. In vieur of users occupation, housewives who are homeworker have the greatest frequency of food purchases, followed by those who are arbeit, self-employed and without any other jobs than housekeekping, in order. Frozen food is purchased frequently by arbeit, homeworkers and self-employed workers in order. 7. As for characteristies of food purchases by users' occupation, housewives who have an occupation in which their long-time mork leads to an increase of their income more often use ready-mix food rather than to cook raw materials. The trend of food purchases of housewives as above discussed is deeply related to the growth of their children and the contents of diet begin to differ with their growth. About a half of the housewives use cooked food, although they feel agricultural chemicals and food additives are terrible. This fact seems to reflect the tendency that a food life with a plenty of readiness and variety has been preferred by housewives.
