| 内容記述 | In recent years, people with dementia have increased with the increase in elderly population. Support for people with dementia and their families is the most important issue in considering the health and quality of life of the elderly. In this paper, we outlined the medical background of dementia and non-medication therapy for people with dementia and reviewed the eight papers on Snoezelen currently considered important. There were many reports that Snoezelen was effective in improving mood and behavior, such as aggressive/challenging behavior, agitation, wandering, maladaptive behavior, etc. Regarding cognitive decline, which is the core symptom of dementia, it was reported that a short-term improvement was observed in a study conducted on severe/the most severe dementia. Finally, it is worth noting that one study reported a long-term improvement in behavior which continued during the follow-up period after 8 weeks. |
