| 内容記述 | I have written this suite as an program music that attempts to musically render an extramusical narrative. The narrative itself might be offered to the audience in the form of program notes, inviting imaginative correlations with the music. And Using wood Instrument, Clarinet and Piano makes sounds which is suitable for Japanese Musical Scales. Story of the composition goes as follows: When I climb Mount Misen on the Island of Miyajima, Having reached the summit I look at the Sea of Seto and at the Itsukushima Temple which has been listed among the sites of world cultural heritage. I am moved by this magnificent view. On the other hand, the final movement derives its subject from an old legend. In ancient times there was a white horse that took messages to the gods on the Island of Miyajima. When the white horse died, it was replaced by a brown horse whose hair also, eventually turned white. This transformation from brown to white was repeated over generations. In Japanese “Mi” stands for “beautiful” and “Yama” for “mountain” The suite consists of the movements “Seto” “Visit Shrine” “Legend of Horse” |
