| 内容記述 | Since the Civil War the federal aid policy has developed for promoting the colleges of agriculture and mechanic arts, so called land-grant colleges. The land-grant colleges were founded in all the states on the land grant of the federal government under the Morrill Act of 1862, and furthermore have received federal aid in the form of money grant for their research and instruction activities and extension work through a series of enactments, such as Hatch Act (1887), Second Morrill Act (1890), Smith-Lever Act (1914), and Bankhead-Jones Act (1935). This thesis deals mainly with the complications of these federal aid enactments and the correlative development of land-grant colleges. The table of contents is as follows: (1) Point of view (2) Federal aid enactments for the colleges of agriculture and mechanic arts (3) Development of the colleges of agriculture and mechanic arts (4) Conclusion In short by the enforcement of such federal aid policy the agricultural research institutes and agricultural and mechanic instruction organizations of land一grant colleges have been arranged remarkably well, and at the same time their extension work in agriculture and home-economics rapidly promoted. Indeed it is important that under the continuous, protection of federal government the new type colleges have developed and consequently they have been more open to the people. | |||||||||
